Overview
At first glance, Princess Cruise Lines doesn't give you much to brag about. It doesn't have the rock climbing walls, waterslides or ice skating rinks of the more "value" cruise lines. Nor does it have the wide variety of acclaimed specialty restaurants and posh touches of its sister premium cruise lines like Celebrity and Holland America. What it does have is a comfortable, appealing cruise experience that inspires great loyalty among its customers. There is no doubt that Princess Cruise Lines surprised us by being both approachable and addictive, and we will be back for more. To find out why, keep reading...
Staterooms
Princess' staterooms are somewhat small compared to the industry standard, but what they lacked in space, I found they made up for in functionality. Most cruise ship staterooms have either lots of drawer space OR lots of closet space, not both. This stateroom had both a nice sized closet AND plenty of drawers. In the closet area is a full-sized hanging bar and a 5 shelf cabinet. Additionally, each night stand has drawers, as well as extra space in the desk.
One feature I really loved was the closet/bathroom "hall". When you walk into the stateroom, instead of the bathroom being immediately to your left or right as you go into the room, it is in a short hall, opposite the closet area. This makes it easy to dress in privacy and to block light coming from the restroom at night.
The television is a nice flat screen with a good selection of channels, including the recent movies which play on the Movies Under the Stars screens at night. The rooms is as comfortable as it needs to be, with few notable additions or detractors. You will likely not be amazed or disappointed by your stateroom.

Food
At first glance, Princess' dining options seem pretty standard: prime rib, fettucine alfredo, a fish option etc. But trust me, standard is NOT a bad thing, especially when Princess' version of each item is actually pretty good. The pastas offered on the "everyday" menu in the main dining rooms were better than the pasta we had in their specialty restaurant. The steaks were cooked correctly. Any special requests were immediately met, including a request for specially made Indian food on two separate nights. The Indian food was particularly well done
