Tunisia- Helpful Information
Arriving and Getting Around- Taxis are around 10 euros into town, but drivers are reportedly VERY pushy and try to wait on you wherever you go. You can hire them by the hour, and many of them try to get you to do that. If you do go the taxi route, barter with them for the lowest rate.
By Train- The TGM train requires Tunisian dinars for travel, but appears to be a lower stress and cheaper option with good travel options as it goes to Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and many other tourist places. Here is an excellent link to someone who used this train describing how to get to it and exchange money.
By Guide- I have a good friend who happens to be a tour guide in Tunis. Please contact me through the contact page if you are interested in more information about him.

Attractions/Things to Do-
Bardo National Museum- Large museum of mosaics. 8 dinar (about 3.50 euros) In Tunis. Recent (Feb 24, 2010) reports of renovation, limiting amount you can see.
Sidi Bou Said- Blue and white village. Sip mint tea, see the lighthouse and just wander around this beautiful place.
Dougga- Extremely well preserved Roman ruins. #1 Tourist attraction for Tunisia on tripadvisor.com. World Heritage Site. Available as a excursion from Disney, otherwise must rent a vehicle to tour or hire a guide. Reportedly better ruins than Carthage. It was AMAZING!!!
Carthage- Famous city laid to waste by Romans during the Punic Wars. Accessible by the TGM train. Fewer ruins as the city was willfully destroyed.
