Nachi Cocom- All Inclusive Beach in Cozumel, Mexico
Nachi Cocom- Cost, Booking and Getting There
We recently visited Cozumel, and decided that for this particular visit, we wanted complete relaxation and a great beach experience. Nachi Cocom provided all that and more. Nachi Cocom is an all-inclusive private beach which only allowed 100 visitors per day at a price of $55. What exactly is included in that "all-inclusive" price? The fee buys you a plastic lounger, palapa to share with your party (up to 4) three course meal, and all the well-drinks or beer you want. You also have use of their pool, whirlpools, tables near bar, restrooms and beach. You can pay for extras such as massages, water sports, snorkeling and a photo taken upon arrival, but they are very low pressure about the extras, and one "no" is all it takes.
Let's start at the beginning: how do you book and how do you get there? Nachi Cocom has a few outside vendors booking for them such as Island Marketing, but if you go straight through their website, you know that you are paying the cheapest rate. I see no downside to booking directly. You will be asked for a receipt or proof of booking, so make sure to print that stuff at home and bring it with you. If you forget it, I assume that they can look up your reservation. On the day we were there in mid December, the beach wasn't anywhere near the limit of 100, so I imagine that it really depends on how many ships are in port that day. Nachi is popular with Cruise Critic followers, so it certainly isn't a secret and could be booked up. If you go through their site, you put down a deposit of $11 each and pay the rest on arrival in cash. You might also choose to tip your server at the end of the day because they will be running back and forth all day in the sand for you. (And if you have Carlos, you will be lucky and well taken care of)
Getting there and back to the cruise port is the easiest thing in the world. A taxi costs $15 each way for the whole cab, and they are familiar with the beach. We were lucky enough to meet some friends who were also going to Nachi Cocom for the day, and we shared a cab. Still, only $15 each way, so it worked out great. At the end of your day, let your server know that you are ready to go, and they will ask if they can call you a cab. Sure enough, we had a guy waiting as soon as we had packed up.

The Beach
The beach is clean, and as I said before, private. It has a calmer atmosphere than some other beaches I have been to, so it might be boring for kids, but was perfect for us. The water got deep fairly quickly, so that might be another concern for those with children. There was one inflatable water trampoline off to the side that I think cost extra.
They offer a snorkeling excursion that you can book either when you reserve your package, or you can wait until the day of. Our friends that we were traveling with did the snorkeling and returned with mixed reviews. The seasoned diver had a good time with no issues, but his wife who does not snorkel as much had trouble. The guide didn't tell them what to do, he just kind of stopped the boat and told them to get out. They were on their own. Another concerning thing was that there were no life jackets on the small boat. So, take from that review what you will, but I don't think I'll be snorkeling from Nachi Cocom anytime soon.

The Facilities and Food
There is a pool and hot tub available for use at Nachi Cocom with a swim up bar and extra bed loungers, but they were sparsely used. The bathroom facilities were nice and clean, and the bar would serve you if your server hadn't made it around recently. (We never had an issue with that.)
Now to the food. I want to apologize for not having any food pictures. Honestly, it was so good and we were so hungry that we dug in before I even thought of taking pictures. Fresh guacamole, salsa, and chips kick off the day of eating, but mozzerella sticks and fries are also offered. The chips, salsa and guac are amazing! Next, we split the grilled shrimp and the quesadillas. Both were great. Dessert was the only thing that didn't knock our socks off, but the flan was decent. One tip for the food: if you don't mind sharing with your partner, order one person's appetizer, then the other and do the same for entrees. This keeps you eating all day, and the portions are really large enough to share. Plus, you get to try more things.
Additionally, there is a small shop with t-shirts and other items as well as the window to rent equipment. Another nice feature is the covered eating area with tables in case it rains or you want to eat at a table.

Final Thoughts
To sum up, Nachi Cocom is a great value and experience, and I highly recommend it. I will go back again one day (hopefully soon). The service, food and facilities are outstanding. To book directly through their site, here is the link http://www.cozumelnachicocom.com/default.cfm
