Siena- Helpful Information
Arrival Options- There are 2 options to Siena from Florence: the bus and the train.
By Bus- The SITA bus company runs buses to Siena from the bus station across the street from the train station. The journey takes about an hour and fifteen minutes and costs 7 euros for a one way ticket. Buses leave 2-3 times an hour and drop you in Siena inside the old city walls, as opposed to the train.
By Train- For some reason, the train takes longer than the bus in this case. Then, you have to take a bus up to the city center or walk the 2km. The cost is between 6 and 10 euros one way and the train leaves from the main station in Florence.
Getting Around- Siena is easy to walk, so that is your best bet.

Basilica di San Dominico- 7-6:30. Contains relics of Saint Catherine of Siena.
Eating in Siena
Here is the culmination of my research of the food in Siena. Antica Osteria Da Divo is the most highly rated restaurant in Siena on tripadvisor, and has been featured on Samantha Brown's show. The interior is gorgeous, but the prices are slightly higher than I really want to pay. It would be a possible splurge for us. A cheaper option which is outside the city walls, but just a short walk and also gets amazing reviews is Osteria Enoteca Sotto le Fonti. Another restaurant that gets good reviews is La Taverna di San Giuseppe.
