Okay, probably the most used title in travel blogs, but I'll use it anyway. It is hard to believe that tomorrow at this time, I will have completed my big Florence day. Wow. So, for those of you who don't know, our itinerary is pretty crazy this year. We fly into Italy and travel around for a few days until our cruise leaves on Sunday from Venice. Then, we cruise for 9 days and end up in Barcelona, where we immediately fly to London. (Yes, we are missing the wedding by quite a bit, which is good) After 3 days in London, we fly home. It is a little hard to focus with a trip this big. Some people can't understand why we are going back, but James and I were going through it yesterday and we are only visiting 3 of the cities we saw last year. (Rome, Naples and Florence) And those cities have enough for entire vacations, much less the 2 days we will have experienced.
I feel like I have been preparing for this trip for ages for a few reasons. 1.Much of my planning took place while James was in Iraq, which really stretched. 2.I have been learning Italian almost since I got back last year, in preparation for going back to Italy one day. I hope that my new skills help (and that I am brave enough to use them). Wow, the whole thing makes me a little nervous. But, I have an Italian friend who offered to pick us up at the airport, which was so unexpectedly nice, so at least we start the trip with a friendly face.
Okay, enough babbling. Next post should be WAYYY more interesting.
