One of the hardest things about trying to improve the website has been picking interesting news stories. I find myself avoiding stories about luxury lines because I just can't see myself spending that money, and I imagine that the people who do spend that money aren't concerned with doing ports on their own. (Although I would still do them on my own were I wealthy. I would just have a guide follow me around, speaking when I pleased. ;) ) Let's face it, cruise news in general can be pretty dry. I mean, "it's hurricane season again." Really? Doesn't that happen every year? True, it effects cruising, but is it really news? I did think that the new double embarkation next year in Europe for Norwegian was pretty interesting. I get so used to the people I am cruising with, it would be weird to have like half new people halfway through the cruise. Of course, I have not been on a ship as big as the Epic, so I might not notice. The biggest question, of course, is what about trivia?! I read that Norwegian had cumulative trivia like Carnival's Super Trivia (of which we are champions with some fabulous ladies from NY) and would really miss that. But seriously, what else would be different about changing out half the ship at a port? I hope I get a chance to find out.
First, I want to thank everyone who has visited this site in the past few days. The numbers are climbing everyday, and it really encourages me to know that someone is benefiting from all this information that I am putting together. Notice I said "putting together" as in, I am nowhere near done, which is fairly obvious. And as I am adding things, I would love to add anything that you might know about or that you think needs to be elaborated upon. So, feedback is welcome. Well, nice and helpful feedback is welcome. :)

No, thank you! I stumbled upon your website today and lucky for me it is perfect timing as I am trying to plan a cruise out of Barcelona in September, stopping at Rome, Florence & Naples. So your information could not have come at a better time. I have already printed out your reviews on the ports as I too am budget conscious and want to try and do things on our own. We hope to fly in the day before our ship leaves and spend the night in Barcelona. Any tips on finding a safe reasonable hotel??
