Our cruise news this week features stories about two cruise lines who changed their minds. Royal Caribbean, in an effort to save face or make things right (or both), decided to reimburse the passengers they stranded in San Juan last week. Details of the reimbursement have not been released, with Royal Caribbean preferring to deal with passengers on a one-on-one basis.
Disney changed their alcohol policy this week, only to change it back just a few days later. With one of the most liberal alcohol policies on the seas, it was not surprising when Disney announced that they were limiting the amount of beverage to be brought on the ship to some degree. What was surprising was that they changed back to their older, more liberal policy only days later. One is left to wonder whether someone at Disney made a mistake, and what exactly, sparked this change.
