Thanks for the podcast on river cruising; it's nice to hear about other cruise alternatives. We took a 14 day Viking river cruise in 2009 (See pics in link above.) from Budapest to Amsterdam, which was very enjoyable. Travelers should be aware that the boats are subject to river levels and commercial traffic on the rivers and canals; all traffic
must take their turn in the locks. Viking did a good job of keeping us on schedule and provided buses
whenever we fell behind schedule so that we could complete our daily excursion and catch up with the
boat later. Also, many of the medieval cities we visited have cobblestone streets that can be rough on your
feet after a few hours of walking - even for those of us who are daily runners and in good shape. And if
climb up to the fortress in Passau, it's 878 steps - straight up! Thanks for the podcast. Keep up the good
work.
